Honiara, The Solomon Star, SENIOR officials from the six countries involved in the Coral Triangle Initiative will meet in Solomon Islands this week to discuss the progress of the Initiative which focuses on safeguarding coral reefs, fisheries and food security in the Coral Triangle region.

Jakarta, Kompas – Penentuan lokasi sekretariat Prakarsa Segitiga Terumbu Karang akan dipastikan dalam pertemuan pejabat tinggi (senior official meeting) ke-4 di Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, pada 16-20 Oktober 2009. Demikian dikemukakan Sekretaris Eksekutif Regional Interim Prakarsa Segitiga Terumbu Karang (CTI) Eko Rudianto di Jakarta, Senin (12/10). “Penentuan sekretariat CTI akan diputuskan dalam SOM (senior official meeting) ke-4. Diharapkan, Indonesia menjadi sekretariat tetap CTI,” ujar Eko. Pembentukan sekretariat CTI merupakan tindak lanjut dari pertemuan negara-negara segitiga terumbu karang dunia, 11-15 Mei 2009. Saat ini Indonesia ditetapkan sebagai sekretariat sementara CTI hingga tahun 2011. |
