Senior Officials from six countries of CTI gathered 12 – 13 May 2009 in Sintesa Peninsula Hotel Manado, discussed items necessary to further deliver the CTI programmatic points. The event commenced with the the discussions of the CTI events in Manado prior to come to some specific discussions on related topics.

Four Objectives
The four objectives of Tuesday meeting were: finalizing preparations for CTI Summit and related events ranging from reviewing final versions of programs for the CTI Summit and related events, discussing final text of the leaders declaration.

The events chaired in row by representatives of coral triangle six (CT6) countries that day also aimed at achieving common understanding on CTI coordination mechanisms, and agree on next steps. Among the discussions, the delegates reviewed set of coordination mechanisms and next steps needed for coordination mechanisms working group.

The groups also discussed some pending issues to further implement the CTI plan of actions.

Common understandings on financial resources and next steps to be conducted also being discussed especially on the short-term financial commitments by donors. (Special sessions on financial points were conducted on Wednesday 13 May 2009)

In the afternoon of Tuesday (12 May), the CTI delegates also spoke out the roadmap for the CTI Implementation phase. A one-year schedule of regional and in-country activities and milestones to support progress in the commence of the CTI implementation phase.

Meanwhile in some places in Manado, events related to the Oceanic also being held, attended by various scientists, researchers and officials from 121 countries.

In the partly clouds hanging up in the air of bay city of Manado, participants of the CTI events expressed their enthusiasm to put forward the remaining agenda to put CTI plan of actions into some tangible activities.
